Hello and welcome to blogtrainee.com.
Last time we talked about how Google Adsense work and how much can you earn from it.
You already know that Google Adsense is a CPC base program in which you earn primarily from “clicks”. When someone clicks on the Ads on your site, you will earn money from it.
But did you know that you can earn more than just from CPC. In this article we will talk about on how to maximize Google Adsense Earnings this 2017.
Maximize Google Adsense Earnings
It is common to say that the more traffic you have, the more Adsense earnings you get.
This is true for CPM base programs but Google Adsense is a CPC base. In our post on how Google Adsense work and how much can you earn from it, we said that Adsense earnings has many factors to consider.
Some of these includes, CPC, location, traffic, Ad sizes, number of clicks, etc.
Tip #1: Target tier 1 countries
Advertisers pay more to tier 1 countries which results to high CPC. Usually tier 1 countries have a CPC of $0.20 to $0.50 whereas tier 2 countries are anywhere between $0.10 to $0.20. Tier 3 countries have an aproximately a CPC of anywhere less than $0.10.
Find out what tier is your country here.
Tip #2: Use Larger Ads
Based on my experience, larger Ads units tends to perform better than the smaller ones. Even the Google Adsense team itself once said that their best performing Ad formats are:
- Responsive Ads – Most of the time I use this
- 336 x 280 – Large Rectangle
- 300 x 250 – Medium Rectangle
- 728 x 90 – Leaderboard
- 300 x 600 – Large Skyscraper
- 160 x 600 – Wide Skyscraper
So be sure to check this out.
Tip #3: Use text Ads
Next on our 10 optimization tips on how to maximize Google Adsense Earnings is to use Text Ads.
Don’t limit yourself to just Text and display units. Use the power of Text Ads. This will be best if your site and articles are optimized and are related.
These are our only secret but Text Ads tend to perform better than the other Ad units, at least for me.
Tip #4: Max out number of Ads
Adsense ads are only limited to 3 Text and Display Ads(content units), 3 Text Ads and 2 search box until they lifted the Ad unit limit on August 2016.
Now you can now place an unlimited number of Ad units in a single page.
Google reminds site owners not to let the amount of ads on a single post or page exceeds the amount of actual content. By doing so may result in limiting or disabling Ads on your site.
Worse case scenario if you spamming your own content, you may get your account banned.
Be sure to balance your content and Ads.
Tip #5: Enable Page Level Ads
Did you know that you can add more Adsense ads on top of your content and text ad units?
Yep. There are two type of Page Level Ads.
- Anchor/overlay ads – These are shown in mobile ads that sticks to the edge of the user’s screen and are easily dismissable.
- Vignette ads – These are mobile full-screen ads that appear between page loads on your site and can be easily dismissed by your users.
How to enable?
Just login to your Adsense account, click “Content” then Click “Page Level Ads”. Then enable bot Anchor and Vignette ads. Click “< > Get Code” then copy and paste the code between your sites <head></head> tag.
Tip #6: Place Ads above the fold
Our next tip on how to maximize Google Adsense Earnings is to place the Ads above the fold.
Above the fold is the part of your site wherein the content is visible to user without having them to scroll.
For example, go to blogtrainee.com homepage but don’t scroll.
Now what you see are contents above the fold. In my homepage, there are two above the fold ads. One is content unit in header right side and the other is text ads above the latest articles.
Remember, do not sell your sites content quality with lots of Ads.
Bonus Tip: Try to experiment different Ad placement and see what’s best for your site.
Tip #7: Do not block Ads
Some says, you should block unrelated Ads to make sure that the Ads servings are related to your niche.
Based on my experience, blocking and not blocking gets me the same results. I tried blocking categories for 2 months and another 2 months for not blocking the category, but same results.
Now it’s up to you whether you block categories or not. If you want, go to “Allow & block ads” section. Click “General categories” then block the categories that is not related to your niche.
I will tell you another secret, even if you block unrelated categories, it will still show the ads on that category. Believe me, I’ve tried it many times.
Tip #8: Set up custom channels
This tip is related to reporting. Custom Channels allows you to get better insights on what’s working and what’s not.
Example of my custom channels are Header Top Right, Content Below Title, In Content Between Paragraphs, Sidebar Top, Sidebar Bottom, Footer.
With this, you can see what’s the best performing part of your site is working with ads.
Tip #9: Blend Ad colors with your sites theme
This will work most of the time for link text ad units. Blending Ad colors with your sites theme tend to perform better than using the default Ad Style.
Because of this, your CTR(click-through-rate) will increase, thus more earnings you will get.
If you have already set-up your ads with the default Ad style, don’t worry because you can edit it by going to your Ad units.
Tip #10: Create great and interesting content
Creating great content is the key to make more money with Adsense. If you have great and interesting content, your visitors will not only love it but Google also.
This will result in more traffic and more pageviews on your site.
More Traffic = More Pageviews = More Money
So that is our optimization tips on how to maximize Google Adsense earnings. Try also to experiment with Ads. Try different ad sizes and ad colors.
Everyone have different experiences and niches so I recommend to experiment yours. In the list above, those are what’s working for me. Those are tried and tested by me and it gives me more money.
